Release date: 23rd August
Next release: 23rd September

Better late than never. Tomorrow, we're back with a new poker release following the summer break. The main change you'll see as soon as you play your first hand - at least if you play like me 😄 - as we've added all-in equity to the tables. We've gone with a fairly simplistic visualization at the table felt, but when there's a pre-flop all-in, you'll also see a graph (not shown on table felt) showing how the equity changed throughout the hand (preflop->flop->turn->river).

In addition to the all-in equity, I'd also like to highlight an improvement to the mobile portrait view for MTT's: all filters now work in this view, making the mobile MTT experience significantly better.

Some thoughts on the 'All-in Equity' update:

1 ) Overall I rate this, I find it informative in game .It is especially useful in multiway PLO hands where I find the equity v hard to calculate.

2 ) I think it will most impact extremely new players who don't really have a sense of all in equity yet. There is a balance in that the equity display is educating players (which is generally NOT good for the games) but this is educating them in a VERY gentle way so its definitely all good.

4 ) It would be quite useful to be able to see equity in the replayer later, I was going back over a session and the equity no longer displays 😞

5 ) I'm guessing this is a precursor to unibet offering an AIEV graph in the game lab?

6 ) This should make people a lot less whiny about losing when they can see the equity. Just kidding, of course there will be an endless stream of people posting conspiracy nonsense. In their minds Stubbe is at a computer day and night pressing the big red button to make sure 'Jeff1984' loses KK Vs 44 in a 1 Euro rebuy comp while he cackles like Dr Evil.

7 ) Really like that its something you can switch off, personally I like seeing the graph and % but some people won't want to see it.

8 )  I rate the community challenges, generous giveaway, you love to see it.

Misc. thoughts

1 ) Changing Hexa tickets so you can buy tickets to the weekly special hexapros is good.

2 ) On the Jackpot mania tab for Hexapro Extreme, there are numbers (190, 101) after the description (see screenshot below). Also there is a tab on the left reading 209/500. What do all these numbers mean?

Overall I rate the equity % update and how its being done, good work unibet. Much love to the dev team, I suspect even seemingly simple updates require a ton of work and testing.

on the left - the overall number of jackpots already hit in 500 available (both stakes) and on the tab the number of jackpots still left on each level (500 - 209 = 190 + 101)

Exactly this. The widget was originally built for the JP Mania promotion where it's a limited number of jackpots and/or limited period of time. For now there's no end date on the extreme Saturday and we'll add more jackpots when we get closer to the 500 🙂

Great feedback. On the phone now so will be a short reply.

AIEV. Yes, want to do something like that. Have previously talked about improving the allin luck currently in the game lab. Nothing decided yet, but I'd basically like a metric/graph which will show if customer has actually been lucky or not in allins (most likely not considering amounts won/lost but simply equity at allin vs allins won)

Equity in replayer. Agree with this. Technical limitation at the moment. Not a super high priority one, but it's on the list 🙂

6) 😅

Really nothing special comes to mind. I think the update is good! The guys in this post have quite nicely covered all the stuff. And the poll results look good as well. Good work UB Poker Team!

There is, however, one minor thing that’s been bugging me occasionally (well it only happens occasionally) 😁. When playing at the tables, and you decide to go all-in (especially in a critical moment), there pops up this add of tomorrow’s Bubble Burster or Deepstack Legend or whatever. And when the all-in and the add about simultaneously (again, it happens somewhat rarely) it blocks quite nicely the view of the just unveiled player’s hand sitting at the top and the center of the table. In this circumstance, you just don’t see the cards of your all-in opponent which is annoying. Most recently happened to me yesterday at one MTT. Sorry, got no screenshot, but I believe you understand what I’m after with my boring explanation 😴.

My question is: Would it be possible to move the pop-up adds to somewhere, where they don’t block the hands?

Thanks!

The following is not limited to the newest release; it’s been around for a long time. But I thought, this is might be as good topic as any to notify of an issue.

So when you are in the poker client and then in the middle go to check a live bet on Unibet site (or, for example, go to Flashscore to check some game or whatever) it leaves these “shadow objects” from earlier events from poker on the screen. This happens, for instance, when there is a coffee break during MTT and you go out of the poker client (going out as in not signing out, but simply by clicking already open tab on your browser, and then coming back to poker client).

This might be only a problem for tablet users who use browser (like me and my notorious iPad + Safari combo). But just wanted to notify this, if it is something fixable @Stubbe-Unibet. I took couple of screenshots - not the best, but makes the point (most disturbing during MTTs when everything might go somewhat fuzzy: old “shadow avatars and stacks” reflecting with the current ones etc.)

Thanks 🙂

Can you confirm which devices you are experiencing this on? And does it happen consistently or only occasionally?

Thanks @Stubbe-Unibetfor getting back to this.

Devices: It’s my few years old iPad Pro with the latest firmware installed (iPadOS 15.6.1) and Safari browser. It has been happening with older firmwares too, so pretty sure it has nothing to do with that.

Frequency: I would say this happens consistently, not occasionally; not sure if it happens in every single instance though. But the occurrences are daily and even multiple times per day.

Happened to me again yesterday (see screenshot below) when I was logged in to poker client in one Safari browser tab, then went to see Community topics for a while in another tab, and checked some sports at Flashscore on yet another tab. While I got back to poker client tab it was already disconnected (I was gone out only for few minutes) and the “shadow objects” appeared again this time while started playing HexaPro.

It is hard to say exactly and to articulate, when this is triggered. What I have noticed, it seems, that if the tab exchanges back and forth between i.e., to poker client and some other website (i.e., checking some score at Flashscore) are very brief (some seconds) this thing won’t happen. But other than that, going off from poker client and returning back even while being logged in the whole time seems to trigger this for various reasons: visiting other open browser tabs, checking something other from my iPad etc. Furthermore, this issue seems poker client specific, since the “shadow objects” don’t appear, for example, in UB main site while on playing casino or fiddling with sports bets.

Please, feel free to ask any further information regarding the issue. I’ll do my best to help 🙂

I have had this "shadow objects" issue on my phone too. Tho I haven't seen it lately (except one time). I'm sure that the cause why it happened was that I put my phone on flat surface for longer time screen positioned downwards while logged in to poker client (phone in pocket while sitting or smth).

Thanks for this useful information!

However, we seem to have somewhat different triggering mechanisms, since my iPad doesn’t seem to care about the positions 😄. Btw, do you have an iPhone? Just thinking this might be relevant information for Stubbe and others working on this (don’t know if there are differences between iPads and iPhones in this regard).

Either way, thanks Panamera for sharing this!

No, I don't have an iPhone.

I thought that flat surface might be the case here for you too, but as you say that your iPad doesn't seem to care about positions, then I have no clue at the moment. Interesting.

Okay. Thanks for the reply! 🙂

I don’t have much clues either. My best guess is - as I wrote earlier - it has something to do with going back and forth with different tabs/windows in a browser. And that in some way produces the “shadow objects”. But what is behind that, no idea. As you said, interesting indeed 🤔.

Little confirmation update regarding “shadow objects” issue: Experienced it a little while ago. I can now 100% confirm that it happens also within Unibet “browsing” (as I have somewhat hinted berofe - now I’m certain). I was playing MTT and during the break changed tab to watch some tennis. When I came back to poker client tab these “shadow objects” appeared again. No other tabs were even open in my Safari browser at the moment.

I hope this might give some clues, where the problem might lie. Don’t know… (Didn’t take screenshot this time. Sorry.)

Have had any time @Stubbe-Unibet to investigate the “shadow objects” thing (or replicate it with your iPad)? No hurry, just checking out 🙂.

Another thing came to my mind - not a bug, rather an improvement of sorts (maybe). So, we have this stats box available in the poker tables. I was wondering if the “next pay-jump” could also show the stack size of the target player (maybe the target rank too, which of course, is calculable from the current information). This could be of some use in big MTTs along the way. Of course this information is available in the tournament lobby, but could be perhaps added within the “stats box” too. I don’t know. What do you think guys; would this offer any relevant or valuable information?

Tried to reproduce it earlier this week, without any success. I'll give it another go later this week, when the aftermath of the ongoing issue is over 🙂

I don't know if it's all that valuable to know the stack size of the player just one position ahead of you. Is it something you often check in the lobby?

Thanks @Stubbe-Unibet for the answer 🙂! And no hurry with these two. I know you surely have your hands full of this ongoing poker issue 😅!

But I’ll just leave few comments (read & answer when you have the time):

(a) The “shadow objects” issue. It is interesting (maybe in a good way) that you haven’t been able to reproduce these shadow objects. For me it is a daily occurrence. As said earlier, it happens nearly every time move back and forth between poker client and Unibet main site (be it Sports betting or Community or whatever), or visit other websites and then come back to poker client, or if my connection goes down and it then reconnects to poker client (for example, I have a 2 minute automatic lockdown time on my iPad and if it exceeds, for instance, during MTT coffee break, the shadow objects always come to the screen.

But let’s see if we can solve this somehow. And if not - even though the phenomenon is somewhat annoying - poker is still playable. So no worries. Thanks for the help!

(b) “Next pay-jump update” issue: Currently there is the information of the next prize, i.e, €250 Supermoon and in parenthesis how many players to eliminate to achieve that prize. Perhaps I was thinking that adding the current stack size of the last prize would be “nice to know” information. It would also be somewhat logical since the current stats box gives the leading, mid- and smallest stack information. Similarly, while the highest prize is given in the stats box right above the next pay-jump, there could be in a same manner the smallest prize and the position sufficient to reach it shown (this of course becomes totally irrelevant when a player reaches prized positions point).

Of course knowing the stack size only one position ahead of me might not be very valuable nor interesting. In some instances though, it might help to modify the playing tactics a bit. And in some bigger MTTs or in a situation one is hanging on a thread of getting a prize, this could be valuable information.

Answering your question Stubbe: I find myself somewhat often checking in the lobby, where the bar for lowest stack size for a prize is. Maybe I’m weird and alone in this 🤷‍♂️. If this is just me, then I’m totally fine with the current setting. But if there are more players like me, then perhaps adding the smallest stack needed to reach the prize pool could be something worth of consideration. I really don’t know how valuable or interesting other players and/or the poker team deem these parameters. All I know is that they are all different parameters of each other.

Finally, this was just some thought that popped my mind. Hence, I thought I’d tell it forward. But I leave you poker guys to judge, whether this is something of value or not. Just trying to bring some ideas at the table.

Thank you for your precious time 🙂

@GotKot99

Here is an example of my "shadow objects" issue. (Haven't seen it months before today tho)

I used poker client a lot, checked hand histories and so, then put phone battery for charging screen downwards to my sofa and picked it up again after few minutes. But I don't think there is any connection with battery charging, as before I have had this issue without changing phones battery.
