Previous release notes can be found here.

Release date: 21st September
Next release: 19th October

This is a release some cash game players have been eagerly awaiting for years. We'll now be limiting the behavior where players take money off the cash game tables, after winning a small (or big) pot (ratholing). We've put quite a lot of thought into this and won't be preventing the behavior completely, due to ecology concerns. If a losing player wants to take a bit of money off the table occasionally, to limit his risk, we're absolutely fine with that, and so should other players be, if the alternative is that he/she doesn't play or leaves the table completely.

A fair bit of work has also gone into the table redesign, which I'm sure some of you have seen in:

Lastly, re-regulation preparations for the Netherlands is also still heavy with the workload.

New features/Improvements

  • Rathole mitigation measures. We introduce a cap on the ratholing possibility in cash games. Players re-joining the same table in cash games within 30 minutes will after 4 attempts be forced to re-join with the same stack as they left with.
For the 4 first re-join attempts they will be forced to join with a 100 Big Blinds stack. For details please see the table below.

*Ratholing counter: How many times a player has left a cash game table with 100 Big Blinds or more and then sat back down within a 30 minutes period at the exact same table. The counter will reset every day at 00:00 UTC and will count across all stakes and formats.

  • New MTT Break popup overlay. We have a new MTT break popup giving the players the choice of starting a quick HexaPro during the break OR showing some interesting stats for the MTT they are playing in.
Player selects which view they prefer by clicking the icon under the break timer.
We will offer Traditional HexaPro (not Banzai as in mockups below).

Rules for the MTT break popup:

  • Popup is shown on all breaks, including custom breaks
  • All re-buy and add-on popups have priority over this view
  • If player closes this the old MTT break message is shown
  • If player has only one table shown – show HexaPro view as default
  • If player has several tables open, show HexaPro view on one table and the rest shows MTT stats
  • On mobile, if a player has less than 4 tables open show on one random table the HexaPro view.
  • On mobile and web, if a player has already 4 tables open (cap) then show stat view.
  • If you are in the money the stats says instead “Next Prize €{amount}”
  • If there is more than 1 minute to next blind level it says “Your stack is xxBB” but if it´s less than 1 minute: “Your stack on next level is xxBB” (mockup is incorrect here as its more than 1 minute left)

  • "New" table background added:

tablebg311.jpg.ea2887d7f26b8325b087d623b431402d.jpg

  • When registration closes ahead of tournament start: show registration close value instead of tournament start time.

  • Loyalty points renamed to XP. The new loyalty system has caused some confusion in regards to the two types of points and the multiplier. We're renaming loyalty points to XP and are looking into the multiplier aspect as well.

Bug fixes

  • Removed ‘Early bird’ icon next to the cash game pools as new loyalty doesn´t have that function.
  • Fixed issue with filtering in Hand History
  • On some client types the little spark animation around the HexaPro area was black, not shining. This is fixed.

Compliance

  • Various work for upcoming re-regulations.

Downtime

We are updating Unibet Poker server side on Tuesday 21/09/2021 05:00-06:00 UTC.

Games will be paused during update.

New SNG tournament creation disabled 1 hour before update.

Update may be finished earlier.

My MTT table UI turned back to the old one with this update ( I was using the test version before this ).

I do see the new "Break Popup" though, but everything else is back to old style.

Is this on purpose, or did something go wrong with the update?

Others?

That's expected. The new table UI will come next month (if all goes according to plan). Hope to have a new version to share with you guys soon (next week), which will have less bugs 🙂

It's not that long ago I did a thread to get feedback on mobile issues, and I didn't really receive any feedback. Without the info from you guys, it's difficult. Many of these issues aren't ones we can easily reproduce nor do I ever experience them myself.

Anyway, I'll do another round of threads and we take it from there 🙂

Hello,

I noticed once I'm timed out and logged out from the poker client, I can't do anything unless I closed the app and log in again. I mean it's not a huge issue but I feel like it would be nice to be able to log right back in without actually need to restart the app. Could you consider to change this at the next patch ?

Btw I love you guy's work ethics and the way understanding what the poker community needs right now. Keep the dream going👍

there is a bug since a long time in the desktop client maybe you can take a look into it. when i play on my laptop and open tables everything is normal but when i switch then from batterie mode to plug in mode or vice versa all future opened tables are black. the already opened ones before are still normal. after restarting the client all works normal again until to time you switch the modes again. this bug happens 100% of the time you do the switch. i tried it on 3 different windows laptops so far and was happening with all of them.

Quickly tried to reproduce this one, without any luck. Can you confirm if the laptop(s) you're experiencing the issue on have got a dedicated graphics card? - the system details (dxdiag screenshot) would be great to get!
I'm just guessing here, but it could be caused by a switch from integrated to dedicated GPU, when you plug in the laptop.

Hello Stubbe-Unibet,

When u will introduce a reminder(1 hour, 2, etc) to poker client instead time out and logged out.

Sorry for my bad english. Peace.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but we won't be replacing the timeout with a reminder. The timeout is a security measure which would be completed defeated with a reminder.

There is a downside to this idea. I went to the banzai today to play 1 euro for 3 players, 30 euro for the chip leader. Opened in Omaha. The chip leader has about 20 euros on each table. They are always ready to go all in because my honest 90% always loses. Naturally, I don't want to sit at tables where the chip leader has the upper hand. You are so losing players. Or come up with a move idea or no one will just play.

It's ridiculous that you think that someone who has a big stack has an edge over you. As I see it, id rather have one or more 500bb stacks at my table than 50bb stacks. It's more money to be won. And the fact that you cling to these superstitions and refuse to improve your game and you expect to win it blows my mind. 🙄

@FreedoM There is a graph of percent and time. This is math. The less you have a percentage to win, the more time you need to spend. I will look at you in your new challenge. It's good that he's in cash games. The Ambasodyrs tried and nothing came of it. Because it is equal to the casino. No progressive temporal. Ponder

P.s. This video should be 82 euros and 30x 89 euros. Calculate your chances.

@FreedoM I will explain in a simple way, if you are already asleep. In "fair" play you have 1-1 odds against any player, but timing is everything. Someone has it - someone does not. The same is about the Internet, what you said is a weighty argument that not everyone will understand .

  • 2 weeks later...

This is great news! I used to rathole when short on online bucks, however I fully commend the Unibet team for implementing this, as even if I did benefit from it, I always felt guilty for doing so.

A suggestion/bugfix to the development team;

I have found when I am playing with real dollars, I can rejoin the table to the full amount I left with.

However, if, as recently, I bought a store bought bonus point cash game ticket, I could not rejoin the tables if I took a break and had to wait the extended time penalty to rejoin at any ammount. As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating if you are trying to clear a flops played bonus.

Kind regards and give my appreciation to the implementers of the changes,

Regards,

(NOT a frenchie, but comment ca va, c'est la vie et  bonne nuit)

Cash tickets don't work with the new rathole policy I can't rejoin games

This is a known issue (mentioned by other members above), and we've got a ticket for it already. Not sure when it can be fixed, but I'm hoping for next month
