Decision time.

The time:                           Early in the session.

The place:                         Table 1 of 3.

The action:                       I've only been here for 5 mins. A few hands previously the big stack (villain 1) flopped a set of eights and stacked the player to my left (villain 2) who wouldn't let go of a pair of Jacks.

I raise my JJ, villain 2 three bets, villain 1 four bets.

My thoughts:

Villain 2 had rebought immediately, shown no signs of tilting, and had won a couple of pots. There had been no frantic action up till now, 3 bets only being called or folded, so I suspected at least one of them had me beaten, AA or KK, but maybe just AK. Do I fold or call? Or 5 bet?

FOLD!

^ How I See It:

- Your RFI HJ Range Should Be Really Strong!

- CO IP 3Bet Range Doesn't Need to Be that Strong!

- SB OOP 4Bet Range Does Need To Be Really Strong!

^ But then again i don't play cash that much or any winning poker.

Thanks for the only reply @FreedoM Everyone else must be busy. 🤣

I had pretty much the same reasoning as you so I folded.

An all in and a call.

Correct deduction.

The result didn't matter, the decision making is what counts.

First hand of a UK qualifier, 2 tickets, 5 players.

Two limpers, sb calls and I check.

The only read I have is on villain 1 who plays a lot of these satties and is usually quite passive, playing small pots.

What's my move?

@GR1ZZL3R  this is somewhat a 'standard' situation in those satties ... if you will you have enough tickets stash, let's gamble with this one and just call. You are quite probably dominated by either JT or bluffed by somewhat Qx draw ... could be okay if you FOLD, but if I will be you, I will most probably call this particular spot and let's pray for an J in the deck! :-)

I can't see the BTN so idk who is who. :happyshy:

The is a saying, never go broke into a limped pot.

Who the Funk knows what he has, since he bets 99 BBs into a 5 BB pot on the Flop, his range is Polarized.

Let's keep in mind it's a €1 Game and we know all kind of stuff happens, especially during this time.

If would FOLD, you have a Healthy Stack and you will find Better Spots.

@MadAdo Thankyou, I did call exactly for your reasons, it's either win a ticket pretty quick or out with a bang, I'm just wondering what others would do! :wonder:

@FreedoM Precisely because it is a €1 ticket and crazy stuff does happen, I called.

Villain 1 called as well so it's exactly that, 3 of us left playing for two tickets, one of us with a huge stack.

This time it was a different result. 😃

So far it's been a correct decision with what would have been a good result and a wrong decision that turned out to be a good result. Such are the fine lines between profit and loss. :wow:
