Well this is it boys and girls, my last post here, tried to reverse the downswing but it didn't happen and with this loss cap it made playing pretty unenjoyable as I always had to keep an eye on how much was left, if I could open another table or not etc etc, also affected the way I would/could play at the tables so it made the whole poker experience a right nightmare.

Right waste of time this was:

pic3.png.ee0b9d3ff6ae09b417bfba548b74c4b4.png

Made the decision to cash out everything as I feel kind of screwed over as I can't complete my next €500 loyalty reward which was the plan, as was completing the €540 playthrough reward at the same time. Also had to use 100k BP (worth €1000) which I wouldn't have if that loss cap wasn't there and a 10 buy in ticket is pretty much -EV but that's the only option I had left.

pic2.png.3912bd4bfca64167fa9c6aa337e425db.png

Now I could have left it till next month which isn't that far away for the loss cap to reset but I don't agree with the process the loss cap kicked in whilst I was playing nor with the back and forth emailing trying to get this sorted afterwards just to come to the conclusion nothing was getting done about it.
Also getting told they increased my deposit cap was a bit weird, didn't even know I had a cap, nor that it was that low but up to £700 now, still pretty low. I checked on a UK bingo site I sometimes play on and I can deposit £1250 a month there and never done any checks there so why is Unibet £700 or even lower before??

Paid €13.5k in rake this year, they won't see anything of that anymore but I guess it's just pocket change for Unibet anyway. Lifetime result on Unibet up almost £15k, not bad I guess coming from a break even poker fish. But no real life changing amounts either lol

Not going to say I'm never playing on Unibet anymore because who knows right but won't be in the short term because by the time I deposited a decent bankroll we are half a year further 😂 and after all this nonsense I'd be very reluctant anyway.

Best of luck on the tables and good night!

Recipe for disaster:

1. Vote for these peeps to make laws and take away any personal responcibility of humans with their lives as we are all just victims

Screenshot_20240925-0327112.png.0ede7d43bab14a48dee0e258a530b209.png

2. Bring in same thinking to business world too with "fun gaming" strategy for virtue signalling.

3. Hire lawyers without knowledge of the spirit of gambling to make your company policy and rules and ask them to make them as strickt as possible +1

What can go wrong...

Sorry, but Brits cannot be trusted with anything, starting from buying spoons to free speech to playing poker. 😅

But yeah, a monthly loss limit for money you net won on a poker site? 🤣 Totally understand @P0kerM0nk's decision. It's a shame though, since Unibet Poker was really the best site around a few years ago.

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

I'll sort out the bonus for you (pay you in BP according to your progression). While I do get the frustration with the loss limit (I'm told it should be converted to net deposit limit in your market next month!), I do feel you're being a bit hard on Unibet as a whole here 🙂

I like to believe I'm always very fair and reasonable (I'd even say generous 🙂), and you can count on a good service for poker (best is of course to message me directly here, as I can't keep up with all blogs etc.), but I'm not in charge of the entire Unibet experience, and sometimes all I can do is lobby for what's best for the product and our players.

Hope to see you back in the future, as I can almost guarantee we will have better rakeback in the future (more about that later this year). Regardless, good luck wherever you choose to play!

Always enjoyed your blog posts, even the runbad ones. I feel for you bro..

Yeah the loss limit sucks, I missed out on winning a tournament leaderboard because I hit my loss limit and missed 3-4 days of MTTs which cost me valuable points.

Hope to see you back or see you at a live event in the UK some time. GL

First your gang beat up player to the point he can't play anymore with broken wrists and then you offer painkiller to ease the pain a bit. Sure it is nice but don't take away the main problem. I doubt none is blaming you but indeed unibet as whole.

If i get it right, no other poker site does this for (uk) players, not this stricktly anyways. These days with all the added rg/tax shit pounding players (and casinos) already, really make no sense that you bring added violence to table and in the mean time shoot yourself in the leg too while doing it. Ok, kudos for changing loss limit to deposit one next week but feels like just another bandaid while waiting for next beating...

So yeah, Unibet as whole is the problem here as you can't change the gambling laws then you must work within those laws to make playing experience as smooth as possible for players, not the worst and most strickt as often seem to be the case.

@Stubbe-Unibet Well this is about my own view on how I play the game on Unibet and obviously you overlook it all as a whole so I don't have any critisism about that nor about Unibet poker and I think you do a fine job.
It is just the way things came accross and were handled whilst I was playing in the past 2 weeks . Poker isn't like playing slots and I'm sure you know, especially if you want to invest some proper time in it and set out goals etc.

The things that annoyed me the most were the fact that I got slapped on a loss limit cap which I wasn't even aware I had and playing the stakes I do and trying to move up, everyone playing enough volume on these stakes would always hit that cap at some point as we all know 10 or 20 buy in downswings aren't that rare in poker. And factor in that the actual buy in on the table gets added to the loss cap is even more absurd, and yes I get the technicality but that has nothing to do with me as a customer. I'm also not sure how the net deposit limit would work, like in my case, can I lose 15k in a month? Seems even worse lol.

The other annoying thing was sending in all the info trying to change the loss limit, would have been handy if this was done before the actual loss cap came into force as now it interrupted my whole 'plan' on reaching certain targets etc and stopped me from actual playing poker. Also the fact they asked for documents to then come back days later asking for more yet I sent in what they asked for was annoying. If they wanted my banking log in details they should have asked right from the start 🙄 And the irregularity of this is beyond me as well, like how my deposit limit is so low on Unibet yet as in my example it's almost double on a UK bingo site. And on top of that there is absolutely no proof of me having gambling issues based on my deposit records on Unibet. (might differ on the tables 😆)

I'll keep an eye out on the coming changes and as I said it is possible I come back at some point.

@Samba Thanks for enjoying my posts, I don't play live though - no patience for that and I know some posts can be rants about running bad but I think it has been better than at the start of the blog 😂, sadly enough runbad is part of poker and mostly lasts longer than the rungood.

I actually forgot to add a stat in my previous post, I tracked my all ins on 100NL and I went all in 18x with AA versus QQ+ and I only won 10 of them 🤣, lost 7 and tied one. I said it before that I run terrible with AA and I know it is sample size etc but ffs 😅

And I mention a real fix will be implemented 😉

Net deposit limit will essentially fix this for existing players, as long as you take it into consideration for your bankroll management/balance on site.

I definitely do get your frustration, and loss limits are pretty stupid from the pro poker player perspective, which is also why I'm really happy that there'll be a move to net deposit limit instead (unfortunately, I was just told this might not be fully implemented before sometime in November).

As for the whole process, I don't really have enough info to comment on it.
Exact limit. The regulator doesn't provide us with any amounts for limits, so there will potentially be big differences in limits across different sites. You don't need a gambling issue to get a limit, and in several other jurisdictions, limits are even forced on every single customer, and in some cases it can't be more than a few hundred Euro a month, unless we can prove that customer can afford to lose more. If you want more info on the UK situation, you can google "UK white paper on gambling".
In general, I think it's fair to say the regulatory frameworks for responsible gaming are designed for casino and sports, not poker.

While right hand is trying to build big and cozy home, left hand is trying tear it down. Weird strategy indeed. Shame as player pool is slim already 😞
