wwaanneess
@Lerre belgian government is a disgrace, that's true, but stop blaming unibet, they can't help it, right?@iitztekto probably the worst thing you can do

Lerre
they can find a way, just as they find a way to offer sportbook boosts or free tickets, just as bwin gives away free wpt tickets, ... Even the weakest lawyer could find a hole in this ruling. For example: poker does get taxed here as income, opposite to casino games. This fact alone is more then enough to claim that the ruling does not apply to Belgian poker players. they have dissapointed their belgian community, fair and simple. Pokerstars is still giving chests, isn't the gambling aspect of chests much higher and more addictive then louter rakeback? Talk to pokerstars why can they still give some form of rake-back? ----In the long-term I think no-rake-back/promotion is n't good for poker, this will kill the dream of poker and the network effect. @Jeroenvg Care to explain a bit more on the bolded? Personally I love the idea of Stubbe and the Poker crew doing no rake SNGs for the next while, som am wondering why you'd think they end up as being bad for poker.@Lerre It hurts to hear you say that as that's obviously never what we want to have happen. When creating promotions, we have to follow the guidelines of our Legal department as we have no interest in operating in a way that disregards local law and regulation, both because of potential fines as well as the fact that we'd like to have a positive connection with the different authoratives in all the countries we operate. 1 Former Community Manager
Jeroenvg
@JeppeLWhat I mean about is that the true ambassadors of Poker are the people who are actually winning at the games. Without winning players the game will be destroyed.

CuteRaven
@Petit_pertotalYou mean this? https://www.pokernews.com/news/promotions/2020/10/win-a-share-of-2-000-every-week-by-playing-rake-free-unibet-38076.htmIt already happened. The promotion ended on Sunday, then the 50€ and 100€ SNGs were removed. The rake on the remaining levels is now as it used to be (5%).
Petit_pertotal
ah lol.. i tought they where looking for a permanent solution. Since we don't get the rakeback anymore here in belgium i did quit poker so i only check the forum once in a while to see where the topic ends (so i can start playing again) guess i still need to have some more patience, hopefully they find a solution in a few months.. wwaanneess
Hi Unibet staff @JeppeL is it possible to remove the popup of 'high hands promo' for belgian players as we are not included to any promo's or rakeback?Don't mind it pops up that much, but still annoying.if not possible, no problem.Cheers
Stubbe-Unibet
@wwaanneess it'll be removed in the December release as it looks right now. We didn't manage to include it in the release next week, unfortunately :( Check the latest poker release notes. Have a look at our poker promotions. nightshopper
@Stubbe Seems like Belgians don't see the Simpson Stream Special freerolls in the lobby anymore, since yesterday. Normally we're supposed to be able to play them, so I hope it's just a mistake?
Check_Norris
Hello @Stubbe-Unibet ,What's the news since April 2020?Do you have perspective now, do you have plans or you won't do anything?Pokerstars still offers rakeback (clothing, accessories, gift certificates) via the online store ... You were talking about an online store on Unibet, did you forget this idea? You realize that at present, you are clearly the most attractive room in Belgium (I'm talking about poker)

Stubbe-Unibet
No, the legislation hasn't changed and I'd say it's unlikely to ever change for the better, in terms of Belgian poker players being on same terms as everyone else. The new loyalty system has first priority right now, and it won't change anything in this regard. Also have to be honest with you and say SNG's won't exactly be 1st priority either, when it comes to changes for Swedish/Belgian players - SNG's are the smallest game type we have and don't expect anything to happen this year Check the latest poker release notes. Jeroenvg
Can't you open like a shop where you can buy Iphones, Unibet t-shirts, charities donation, with our points instead of rake-back?This can be a win-win situation and you'r not breaking the legislation then; everyone happy. With doing nothing, long-term you will lose customers in sport-betting and poker.
Petit_pertotal
I think that's to much effort just, if this law would be for whole Europe, a workaround would have been created but as long it's just for us we can forget it I am afraid :p It's very sad because if you are a recreational grinder with a slight positive roi you don't move out of the country which is the only viable solution. Tbh I do hope there will be a law for whole Europe so this issue get's solved :p
Jeroenvg
Please Unibet, take action, you are still my favorite broker, but you can't stay left behind, other major sport brokers are finding ways around it. Shouldn't be to hard to give us E-cash vouchers instead of plain cash to convert our points.

We are not actively looking for loopholes in the legislation, and if I understand you correct, this wouldn't be a loophole but a basic violation. The fact that other sites are scummy and shady isn't an argument for us going down that road as well. 36 minutes ago, Petit_pertotal said: bump @Stubbe-Unibet There is no news in regards to poker and I don't expect anything to change in the next 6 to 12 months 😞 1 Check the latest poker release notes. Jeroenvg
The only thing scummy is that the majority of poker sites are accepting a legislation which was never punt to be intented on poker. Nothing wrong with finding a loophole here. I would understand your argument when it is about the protection of the players, where the law was destined for in the first place. This is not the case here.
