tournaments seem pointless

@WuDu  @Argevolen  why?  You must determine 10 and 43 in the same way and then  is pretty obvious :)

First vertical  row also is quite easy to expand up and down :)

edit:

1. with another numbers in vertifcal  you have also  3 solution:  15-5=10,  40-(-3) = 43 and finally" 25-(-8)=33

2. this is many ways to expand vertical row: but sum of outside numbers is clean :)

3. second vertical row [1x3 matrix] is result from: [first row matrix] x 5

so it were 3 possible solutions for this :D Quite a lot !!

You know the saying, when you have 3 solutions for a math problem, you probably have none at all? There you go!

Just give the tikiets to @Purps or someone else and we'll forget this fiasco happened, OK?

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

You guys are missing the simplest and most obvious solution. If you do:

10 (top right corner) + 5 (bottom left corner) = 15 (top center)

15 (top center) + 25 (bottom center) = 40 (mid center)

if you follow the very obvious rule from the previous 2 clear mathematical certainties you get:

40 (mid center) + 8 (mid left) = 48 (bottom right)

which gives 48 as the definitive answer for the puzzle with the 43 in it 🆒

Simply ignoring the 43...:atisfied:

Sorry @pinki but I have to agree, any puzzle like this that can come up with multiple answers for multiple reasons is not a very elegant puzzle.

@GR1ZZL3R  give me a solution other than what I gave :)

@pinki There is only one correct solution as I see it and that is indeed 33, but that comes from exactly the same reasoning as one of the solutions to the original puzzle, (which is dismissed as a genuine puzzle by reason of having two perfectly acceptable answers) middle row minus bottom row equals top row. All the other answers have flaws in them, either missing some numbers in the solution or randomly adding or subtracting numbers in different orders. Your answer is what I see as the only acceptable solution but by a totally needless and somewhat random process when there is a perfectly simple method. I know it's hard coming up with good and fair puzzles so I'll upgrade you as this is your first attempt here.

@GR1ZZL3R  you cannot use this solution. The method of determining 10 and 43 is important here.  At first glance, it makes sense: top + bottom = middle.  but the most important question should be: why 43? why 10?  and with a bit of desire after a few actions, the scheme is easy to learn.

I remember when I took part in the mathematics olympiad when I was 15 years old. This task was similar there but with less data and more complicated. Based on a geometric string and several other theorems and you had to do the left-right and top-bottom array extension.  With the results, a member of the commission noticed that only 4 out of 100 people expanded the original matrix.

Here, too, I wanted to do something similar :D  It's all about perceptiveness. If you can't see something, it doesn't mean it's not there ::Cool:  That's why I wrote that the original task was simple.  :Happyshy:

My first calcluations was with :  A2-B1+A1.  bute later i noticed that was there another two.  So 3 solutions is fair enough in my opinion.

@GR1ZZL3R  @Argevolen  @WuDu  @psrquack  @Livertool  and others :) Prepare another one without additional rows? :happyshy::wonder:

Edit by Jeppe-Unibet: @Steveweetos If you are to give negative feedback, I need it to please be properly explained as per community guidelines. You say there are no incentives, but that's obviously not true as your local Unibet site has a whole promotions section covering promotions for betting, casino, bingo and poker.

Fair enough @pinki  I totally agree there are sometimes more ways to come up with the same answer. I do like maths and have always been fascinated by all types of puzzles so this thread, although as @Rushbie says is a massive derailment, could probably be kept going.

@GR1ZZL3R  I see more than single pattern here :-)

first column running ids (1..4), second column A * B(above) so B4 (24) is A4*B3 and so on ..., third column tricky :-) maybe repeating patterns 0,0 and 20,20 or it is simple result of subtract operation -> C1 = B1-A1, C3=B3-A3 (3)

I like cake as well 🤫
