New Unibet Poker Client

I know we don't get table chat in client but what about client wide chat like winamax has? In client wide chat you can announce passwords for freerolls, promote tournaments and advertise other promotions.

how much time have you spent reading winamax chat?

all i was seeing it was how a bunch of people are instigate and making each other fish and using offesinve words.

you guys may have a problem with this tool "chat".

Absolute agree. There is always a dude who is begging for a gift ticket. We don't need any chat.

I thought about this as Path of Exile has a global chat mode (I imagine other games have it too, but that was the first I saw it in).  It works in that game, but people aren't competing with each other.  As soon as competition and/or money comes into it, I think people will just troll each other.  This community site is probably the closest I want to come to a chat mode.

We are always going to have casino banners.  Unibet are a multi-product company, and poker is a small part of that at the moment.  We get most of our players via cross-sell from other products, and we need to cross-sell back into those products.  Casino banners are the price for getting all those new players.

If they were going to do this, It should be a system that makes global messages but only available to Unibet staff to make messages. 

 

Problem is if there are too many popups then people just ignore them.

Poker 2.0 will include rebuys.  Whether we rake them or not is obviously contentious.  I was thinking of a compromise along the lines of raking both the rebuy and the entry 4-5% rather than the 10-11% that we currently rake.

I know that people will tend to prefer less rake, but it doesn't make much sense to me that 2/3 of the prizepool isn't raked.  It seems to me that it's subsidising the good players who win a big chunk of that prizepool.  I'd prefer that we collect that money and spend the usual share subsidising the weak players in other ways.

Of course, the counter-argument is that weak players tend to rebuy more often.  That's why I was interested in a compromise of lower rake for both parts.  That way, we rake roughly the same amount (ideally the same amount) as we would in a similar sized freezeout, but we're raking the whole pool instead of just a part.

So the trend is more rebuys and add-on ?  And more rake?   

Then you just copy iPoker, 888 and Pokerstars . I don't like this trend .

You should keep some tourneys free from rebuys and use a normal structure.

Are the rebuys going to be available at any chip count on or below starting stack or can you just rebuy when you have 0 chips? Edit: Rebuy, not re-entry, answered my own question. Are the addons going to be the same amount as the buyin or higher, or will it be event specific?

Andrew first off I'm really excited about rebuys as Multibuy didn't seem like a longterm viable option.  So I'm very happy regardless of the rake discussion.

I agree with you that there should be a compromise for raking rebuys etc.  What about a 5% rake for all rebuys and add-on for a regular rebuy MTT. 

And how about just the initial buy in gets fully raked and no rebuys or add-ons are raked for Satellite rebuys.  Since Unibet will collect on the target tourney.

Could possibly keep the rake the same for rebuys/addons but give back by giving multiplied challenge points for rebuys/addons.

I know its better to have lower rake but I like getting challenge points and unlocking rewards, Its hard in MTTs to build points so if rake was to low I think it would be really hard to get any decent rewards from the challenges as an MTT player.

We'll be able to configure this tournament by tournament.  I like the idea of raking less on satellites, but we potentially run into problems if someone just collects lots of low-rake satellite tickets, then converts them into a package, for example.

The next release is on the 28th.  It's an update to 1.0.  I'll post the patch notes somewhere later on, now that you remind me.

2.0 is currently an alpha.  We'll go into closed beta in the near future, with the release a while after that.

I hope there is a good balance of rebuy and freezeout tournaments.

My concern is the add ons. I hope we dont go towards add on being bigger than buy in. This will mean people rejstering last minute and then have an add on.

^ You bring up a valid point... but this is just about combating angle shooters.  If they put late reg well before the add on then it's not really a problem. 

Example 45 min late reg and add-ons after an hour.  Depending on the blind structure this has proven to work elsewhere.

I dont really like rebuys and addons option that unibet will offer, i hope there will be big pool freezeout tourneys and simple ones as equal in daily schedule as rebuy type tourney for around 1-

10e buyin, otherwise variance is gonna kill the game that has mint condition now, cuz weak players tend to rebuy more, and I could believe this gonna be similiar as others rooms, still no hud feature is beast but addons/rebuys will make the game not so easy to run..
