SNG Leaderboard Promotions

Thanks for all the replies, a Prize Drop style promotion for SNGs has been discussed in the past and is an option but there are also a few other ideas on the table. I expect we'll run a few larger SNG promos towards the end of this year - it's tricky to do something before then or be more specific with dates as we're spending a lot of time working towards the release of the new client. Once we do find a few SNG promos that work well then the plan is to include them more regularly though - obviously it's good for Unibet if we increase traffic in SNGs, but it's also good if we can introduce new players to those games (a lot of new players will inevitably head straight into cash games or tournaments unless we give them a gentle nudge).

How about something that's based on results on a small scale so recs who play enough S&Gs have a really solid chance of hitting the board. The Stars Battle of the Planets promo was based on something like best results over a sample of 100 games. Perhaps if you were to do a leaderboard that rewards the best results for 20 (or even 10)  games in a week, taking the best results from games 1-20, 21-40, 41-60, 61-80 and 81-100 to encourage people to keep playing if they brick the first set. The high variance factor should give the recs a decent shout and keep everybody interested.

I don't know what the stats are for recs' S&G volume but I'm working on the assumption that 100+ a week is getting into grinding territory and the average rec enthusiast will be around the 50-60 mark.

To the suggestion of Double or Nothing SnGs --- NO!

Those games are filled with collusion and cheating.

I would like to see Spin n Go-type games added for those that like the long-shot gamble as the game is quick, gives you a shot at a big prize, and players are seated randomly so less chance of collusion.

you have spin go on all sites if you really want to play them.Unibet cant aford to divide the sng players since the pool is not big enoug.

regarding bigger prize in spin and go , you need those games tu run first to have a chance for a bigger multiply so you will not see that on Unibet.

Microgaming launched their own spin and go and i am afraid that they dont    have such a big success and is much , much biger than Unibet.

Please no jackpot/spin format. Sites who add this format have had a big decline in the liquidity of their regular SNG offerings. IMO Spin and Fastfold are faster forms of poker which just take away lots of player's from regular and more traditional forms of poker. In these games, the player is stripped of their money quicker (both to rake and table) and eventually will never bother to re-deposit. There are a few success stories of those big jackpot winners, but do these really attract players in the end? That money is probably withdrawn from the site at a quicker rate too.

If sites keep making this mistake of adding non traditional formats to "make it more exciting", all that will be left is the debris of what was once the game of poker. Make the game more exciting through promotions, stop trying to make pseudo pokers because after all people got into poker for the classic game.

I tend not to like Expresso-style games because it's hard to have winners.  I don't think you can have a poker format where nobody wins, and we already have a whole section of Unibet dedicated to casino games.  It's also a format that requires a lot of liquidity, and it's a format where we'd lose some existing SNG & cash liquidity even if it works.  It's hard to come up with ways to get around those problems.

I also definitely don't like double or nothing SNG.  They're too easy to collude in, in a way that's hard to catch without big sample sizes.  They would also split SNG liquidity.

They aren't.  They're about 20% bigger than us, though their promo at the moment pushes them higher than normal.  We're also growing faster than they are.

  • 2 weeks later...

I reviewed a dozen pages of poker and it seems to me that the point structure for tournaments Sit'n it's that I described below is the most fair.

 2 Seaters Sit'n go's:

1st: 20 points

2nd: 0 points

 5 Seaters Sit'n go's:

1st: 60 points

2nd: 30 points

Rest: 0 points

Tournament leaderboards divide on three separate categories:

The first category tournaments with a buy-in ranging from $1.00 to $4.00.

The second category tournaments with a buy-in ranging from $10.00 to $25.00

The third category tournaments with a buy-in ranging from $50.00 to $100.00

Points multipliers for first category:

Buy-in $1: x1

Buy-in $2: x2

Buy-in $4: x4

Points multipliers for second category:

Buy-in $10: x1

Buy-in $25: x2,5

Points multipliers for second category:

Buy-in $50: x1

Buy-in $100: x2

What do you say upon My suggestions?

I think the problem with this is that it exclusively rewards better players, which is fine for those of us who are good at S&Gs but the opposite of what Unibet are trying to do for recreational players.
