ChDoyle
Hi, I am a newbie at this but I find it 'strange' that even if I win Unibet keeps my stake. So in fact the 'Payout' is not the 'real' payout as I have to subtract my stake from it. Is that right?I did a google search and found this from Betting World..When taking a fixed odds bet of 300/100, the last number (100) represents the stake and the first number (300) is the amount you stand to win. Your payout before tax will therefore be 400 in the event that your bet wins, as your stake is also returned to you if you win. This is contrary to what happens at Unibet? Thanks,Christopher

Is that right?Welcome to the community, @ChDoyle :)No, the above quote is not correct. Whatever is stated as potential payout is the money you'll get, when winning the bet. There is an exception though. If you get a free bet, the value of the free bet will not be included in the winnings, so if we use the above bet as an example, you'd only get 17, if it's won, as the free bet value/stake is not paid out - the "potential payout" on the betslip does show this though, so you can always count on the amount shown there.NB use decimal odds instead, only noobs use fractional ;)
ChDoyle
Hi,Thank you for your reply.Yes the Payout in the bet slip I receive in full, that is clear.Nevertheless if Unibet 'keeps' my stake on a winning bet then the 'net' of the bet is.... Payout - Stake= Net 'profit' from the bet.Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks again...Christopher
