@gyepedro there's no point in spamming your own topic to get the "post of the month" :p

This suggestion has been made many times already, but it needs a lot of development to make this work. Right now  Relax and Unibet don't have time for that :) (At least that's what they told us last time)

I like it a lot @gyepedro, but @VikingsAF is right and at the moment development priorities are elsewhere for the poker client. I have been toying with the idea though of creating a small, but official, Community Heads Up Championship - it would have to be over a period of time though and not just one night :)

@JeppeL

You could cap the field at 32, 64 or 128 and set up a seeding list according to the community rank. Minimum rank of 12-15 to participate and then have 1 or 2 matchups a week at a given time. For example:

64 players heads-up tournament, that's 6 rounds in total. All the games are schedule to take place at Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM (just an idea), so you'd have a 3 week tournament. Interested players have to post in a topic before. The top-50 with the highest rank are automatically seeded and put in the tournament. Then you could set up a small community freeroll with the top-10 eligible players qualifying for the tournament as well. Finally, you could give out 4 wild-cards to deserving members that didn't make it. That would give you 64 players whom you could then seed from highest to lowest rank and the tournament is on!

Not that difficult and a lot of guys could participate.

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

@WuDu but it's really hard to set-up something where everyone can play at the right time. Also manually setting up 32 games for a day isn't that fun I'd imagine ;)

I'm wondering how the timings of HU ko would work. I used to play the free ones on s****s and they took forever. Each round was allowed about an hour to play but if you won yours in 5 mins you were sat ages waiting for the next round to start. I think there wer 256 in those but 64 entries equals six rounds, and obviously for HU you can't have them too shallow as there would be far less skill involved. Any thoughts? :wonder:

"How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"

I think first we can try with 128 player. Maybe over rank 12 ,  with tickets. Last promotion (Road to Dublin- community ) play 130-150 player/ day.

Or maybe with 1 or 2 Euro buy in with password, than not play everybody because its free.

Any ideas?:)

@VikingsAF

Well that's the problem you're having with a Heads-up tournament. Similar to the first rounds at the Grand Slams. Alternatively, you could also split up the first round into smaller chunks and play the 1st round over 4 days or so.

You need fixed dates though, what if someone simply doesn't show up to his game? I'm not patiently waiting for hours in front of my laptop for my opponent to finally show up, so we can play a game...

Yeah that's entirely true @WuDu

And for the first round I could see it work. Just give up 1-4 of 4 timeslots you can play and this can easily get matched up. If you don't show up, then that's too bad. Aside from the manual set-up of 32 of even 64 tournaments (as some are speaking about a 128 person tournament)

I'm more concerned about the further flow of the tournament. Everyone need to keep being able to play at similar times (You mention a grand slam, but when you play one of those, you take your full weeks "free")

Let's say you beat 4 rounds in the 128 player game... you made it to top 8, and then you can't seem to find a spot, or you have some other more (unforseen) activities... It's sad that you'll then have to forfeit.

For the better option you'll fix a date and let's say you'll take out 30 minutes per round (maybe 40 minutes with a good margin + 5 mins for the hourly break at some times). All tournaments are set-up beforehand with passwords that are known by one of the mods. (So for example: 32 at 7:30 P.M, 16 at 8:15 P.M., 8 at 9 P.M., 4 at 9:40, semi-finals at 9:25 and finals at 10:10)

The mods will need to monitor the games and give out the passwords of the following rounds to the winners of the previous rounds. For 64 players this would take 7 rounds (5 hours which is a lot of time). The downside = you need to keep 6 hours free and if some match would take longer for some reason, everything gets messed up (altough I still think you can set a tournament so that you're sure it'll finish in time, if necessary, some real turbo 1 min levels for the last minutes of play). Optionally you can spread this over 2 consecutive days  of 3 hours each (but this gives similar issue's to the above)

@JeppeL @RayL how feasible does this last option sound?

@VikingsAF

A tournament all in one day? That's not a good idea, I'm afraid. Those are a lot of games to organize for the community guys in just one day. What if someone has connection issues that day?

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

I think one round is maximum 20 minutes, same blind levels with is in lobby. Than when 128 player , 6 round and the final heads up! I think maximum 3 hours with breaks. First round is with 64 pair heads up game , and when all party finish, than shuffle and next round.

Price maybe. : ( with 100 €)

1. 40€

2. 20€

3-4. 10€

5-8. 5 €

@WuDu I agree with you in a lot of things on this forum, but now what you said is a bit nonsense :p

Having connection issue's can happen at any point... whether you, in advance, had the decision to play a date, or whether the date has been fixed for you. Also the date will always be fixed for the later rounds of the tournament and I think it's more sad to forfeit a later round, only because of this.

Also any other tournament you want to play has a fixed date, where you could encounter these kind of issues... At those moments you'll have to go with it and wait for a next oportunity aswell :)

So in that restrospect I think any one day tournament goes over any multi-day tournament in terms of getting spited.

@gyepedro I don't want to sound rude, but there is no point in suggesting prizepools as long as there is not even a way to play the tournament. We know you and that bear on this forum are here mostly for the free money ;) Don't rub it in :p Nobody even said this would or should be a freeroll. If it's a 1 or 2 euor tournament your prize payouts don't make any sense either...

Nice idea. This brings up one memory, year was 2009, Heads up tourney just for Finns on Unibet. 108€ buy in and unibet added 10000€ extra money to the prizepool. those were the days.:cash:👍 I took a shot and end up to be one of the bubble boys :waterfall: Min cash was 16xx€ :waterfall: Thanks for bringing this back in my mind :laugh:

Alternative idea is to play normal MTT with randomly chosen community opponent for everyone. If you finish higher than your opponent you get a ticket to next round/tourney.

@VikingsAF

Even if we forget about connection issues, I still think having a tournament like that in one day is not do-able. How long would it take? 6 hours? Yeah sure, that's way too much for a freeroll. Also if Unibet were to organize something like that, I'd assume they'd like to get something back in return (activity on the ubcommunity). With such a tournament lasting for multiple weeks, you could have topics discussing the results, some banter between community members, previews and so on. Maybe 1 or 2 guys live streaming their match-ups...
