Please Exclude me for Life - Today I am a free man

Magicadil

Recommended Posts

At only 24 years old, Gambling has cost me everything. Family, friends, the opportunity to be a contributing member of society.

Today I am reclaiming my life and winning the fight against my addiction.

I have cleaned out bank accounts (200k+) and lost ny dad's entire savings. He relied on me and I have let him down. I am sorry dad. I am sorry your son was such a failure.

I had 3 grand stored aside for next months rent but that too is gone. I could very well be on the streets in the next couple weeks.

2018 has been the worst year of my life but I won't let it defeat me. I could easily blow my brains out or jump in front of a train but that's not how this story ends.

Starting tomorrow I will look for 2 jobs to make up for all the damage I've done and set myself in the right path.

I just wish I still had money to pay the rent as it would provide a 1 month buffer but what's done is done.

This is the hardest thing I've done/wrote in my life but it had to be done.

Today is the start of a new life.

I'm sorry for everyone I let down and thanks for reading.

I debate
Should I smile like everything's good and pretend that life is great
Or should I let the world see the real me and not hide this pain
I tried to be like the rest of y'all, sorry I just can't
I'ma probably die this way

@Magicadil  I feel you man just because i did something like this years ago (100k+) but the reality is you and i did it to ourselves and i'm glad you picked up the hard option to crawl through mud for some years and i'm sure when the sunny days return you'll look at this experience as a blessing in disguise. #TakeNRG #BlessRNG :lovekiss: :inlove:

Funny how you confess to stealing from/misleading your father in order to yolo gamboool (and brag about it here in the community), yet in the same post portray yourself as a victim, thus reduce or even decline your personal responsibility. I hope you'll get the psychological help you need and pay back at least a fraction of what you stole to your father. But betting/gambling is the least of your issues...

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

Try n seek help, you need not go through this on your own. There are many others with similar problems. Dont fall for the illusion of being able to win ''it'' or ''some'' back.

Wish you a lot of strength, cuz luck aint gonna get you there!

@Magicadil

Well based on your history here in this community I did not see this one coming.....from you. Thought you had selfcontrol.

Anyway have no idea from what country you reside but wish you better life in future, 24 years old is not old.

When I was that "young" I alredy experince more in my life (not gambling) that no one should even they become 200 years old.

I know since before I started basic school that life is the hardest school of all.

The most importen lesson \ advice I can give you is: You dont know what you have untill you loose it.

So you lost some "friends" because of gambling ? sorry dont belive that, any real friend or even family should be there for you even true something like this, so now you know that they where not real friends. FYI: all of my friends are dead, KIA or alike.

The best you can do now is from what I can read from your OP is that when you hit rock bottom and dident break, only "bend", then you are strong enofgh to get upp again, you will ;)

I wont judge anyone for gambling habbits or alike since it is not my place att all, sad that many end upp in a "trap" like that but if you reside in Scandinaveia we do have excellent help for this\that.

Evryone will true their journey in life meet a problem who seem unresolving but if you just get a positive attitued, like there is actually people in this world who have it way more worse than you, you will prevail :)

Also to gamble you need a income, only use what you can loose......in your case take a trip in the world when you get a chanse and see some of it, not only "casinos". Maybe you in sutch a young age could find some answers, the most difficullt question you have is when you look in a mirror and ask: who am I.
So untill then stay away from gambling in any way....except maybe buy a standard lottery ticket who cost like 10 a month...nothing more...

The best you can do now is to listen, the more you listen the more clever you become, when you get that, it take some years, then your life will be better.

So take whatever life trow your way standing, then you will be victorius and that will also get you real friends and in time fix your family issues.....you will understand if you just listen to your own feelings.....

Enjoy your life when you still can, when you wake upp in the morning and you still are alive, be gratfull, the diying part is not recomended, your time come soon enofgh...trust me, been dead 3 times before so I am happy just to have a sigg and coffe in the morning, feeling alive when sun rising and birds are singing, enjoy it dont see only the negativety, there is so mutch moore out there :)

Nothing is impossible, the impossible only take some time.

This is a tough one for me to read, Magic has been with us here on the community not long after we went live and we wish the best for everyone here. I've spent the last hour reading all posts going back quite some time, to see if there was any indication of a gambling problem which we should have picked up and acted on, though to no avail. Had I checked your account and gone through the history, then yes I could've probably spotted there was a shift in the amount deposited recently vs previous months, but we respect your privacy and don't go into an account unless there's a reason for it.
I can't and won't comment on anything specific regarding your play or the numbers I see upon checking your account history as that is sensitive information, but I really do wish you the best.
For good measure, I want to mention that Magicadil won't be able to respond to any of the encouraging posts you guys have made. His account was closed by Raj or Marco immediately upon reading this last night.

For everyone reading this thread, I think it's a good time to perhaps reflect and consider if adding a Responsible Gaming tool to your account would be a good idea - if anything, to prevent a potential bad situation from happening in the future as seen here. There's no shame in e.g having a deposit limit or to self-exclude for a period of time if you feel the need.

To find out more about or responsible gaming tools and take a self-assesment test, please do take a few minutes and read here: https://www.unibet.co.uk/general-info/whentostop, thank you.

Easy to say afterwards but i just wonder why didn´t anyone notice chance of behaviour in deposits in Unibet. He had cashouts over 2k recent times and to my knowledge, over that amount you always do somekind of checkout of the player/account @JeppeL ? I don´t know all the facts, just based what i´ve read about his posts here. Seems little strange that some players face lot of investigation and hastle for a lot less withdrawals that he made and like you posted, if someone took a look at his account, it would have been spotted maybe.

Anyways, just sorry for him. Good thing it is only money and he is ready and willing to make up for it so good for him. People are usually willing to forgive people, if they make effort and try to make things right.

Lesson learned here: keep your money and accounts to your self and don´t let anyone access them. Even if you really trust others or they are your family. I don´t think anything good has ever came out of that but many fights or similar cases than this has.

@JeppeL Nicely put.

I have a slightly different take on magicadils post. Ive helped a few people over the years with gambling problems as well as others who have fallen down hard. Gaming addicts tend to borrow/steal and have to cover up with elaborate lies. When they hit rock bottom, they dont act like magicadil. I believe what he says re his gambling issue but his bravado moving forward suggests he has not learned from his mistakes., just lying to himself. I suspect he has further and harder to fall before it really kicks in and more friends and family will be hurt. I hope someone is there to catch him.

You really are the nut low, my man. I guess you're the kind of person who likes to kick someone when he's already on the ground. I kind of remember you two had some beef with eachother on here before but if this is the way you get your kick out of things, I suggest you take a closer look at your own quote: "I hope you'll get the psychological help you need"

@BroederTuck

As long as I don't steal money from and betray the trust of my closest family to gamboooool on Asian Women's volleyball because #yolo, I think I still have some way to go before I hit the nut low...The only person in this situation deserving compassion is the father. It's one thing to have a spending habit spiraling out of control and ruining your own financial life, but willing to pull other people into the abyss as well for your own benefit is just cruel if not criminal. You have to be pretty naive to believe that this "farewell"-post is the end of his gambling career.

These things are always painfull to hear.

@JeppeL

Maybe this can be a sign for Unibet to reconsider some of the self exclusion suggestions I made over the last year. (possibility to lower max playable stakes,  limited play time per day, etc etc.)

One thing I want to add, and which will sound rude, but the times I talked about self exclusion it was always Magic who jumped the high horse and started to tell me that I should just train my self control ... A bit ironic then to see this post from him.... I would love to show some sympathy but he called it upon himself. Still, i hope you recover from it :)

I dont think that an addicted gambler would use the self exclusion option. Simply because that person is kind of sick. If mentally able to stop the sh.it, will do even without limits on the account.

The real solution would be a better monitoring system (however i dont know how effective is now...). There can be signs: continous/high amount of deposits, non-stop betting, strategies like allin-->lost-->than deposit, betting on strange markets (usually in early european hours when you can bet on only bullsh.ts), unusual behaviours.

About monitoring: I cant find the article, but WH (british bookie) was fined big time few weeks ago because their monitoring system failed, and their site was used for money laundering w 100 thousands of euros.

@cris1285

Maybe the real addicts wouldn't, but it could keep borderline addicts from going right over the edge. Or players like me, who are a bit sensitive to tilt.

Even tough I think an addict had good time of regret, where they can use these features.

i dont know if i have to laugh now or be sad cause first of all Wudu why are you so mad and frustrated for someone who admit hes faults and you never seen in personal, who are you to judge about him or hes father ,who are you to judge about him or hes life, all that the person wanted was saying goodbye asking forgiveness to the people he may have hurt , and asking unibet friendly to ban him for  life see the title of the topic , is it th efact that you know he cant read your posts anymore so that you know he cant defend himself, or is it the fact that you dont realize that gamblers CAN have a problem sometimes so please dont judge about anyone other then yourself

2nd my question  wasnt their an option that they can register somewhere on a site to exlude themselfs from every live casino AND site, cause only excluding unibet is a first step but i am a bit scared that people who make this descissions(sorry dont know hwo its spelled) start again after they got their life back in order , so if anyone knows him in real life it could be a help if ya ask him to put himself on a black list,i know there is a list in belgium i dont know about any other country,but if you are on the list you cant ever register any gamble site again or visit live casino's so then there is no chance people fall back

last part, even if ya cant read this it must have taken a lot of courage to admit ya had a problem and to admit your faults in public, i really do wish you all the best for the future and hope at that age that the forgiveness ya asked will wait on the end of the struggle,it wont be easy but im pretty sure their will be people around you to help ya on the good way, you will get your life back ,not easy but you will..so thanx for sharing your story , sorry for the ones that judge and please take care in the future !!good luck!!

1) Because the player who now banned himself was the one who was always judging others when they asked for better player protection. I have a few posts where I asked for more player safety (like stake limits in poker) and he was the one saying I was a degen who should learn to control himself. In fact I'm just sensitive to tilt, but I have far from gambling issues.

Also Wudu and Magicadill had a bit of a feud between them for some time. Magicadill is a far left (a bit to the extreme) and he couldn't cope with the fact that Wudu had an amazing US election prediction thread. (EDIT: And WuDu wasn't the only one that had 'issues' with Magic :p)

2) Belgium has that... I don't know if there are many other countries that do so.

3) What is the point to admitting it in public? More attention? Like he always wanted on here... You could post here that you decided to stop gambling because you wanted to do something else in your life. He shouldn't have posted the details... That's just to gain attention.

Hope I made some stuff clearer :)

i started on unibet in 2013 ,i followed the community since 2016 cause that was the first time i needed help with something and find my answers here, over the past months ive learned that some of the people here are very rude and disrespectfull on this community  i still wont ever change or lower myself to do the same, also i will never judge on people i dont know in real life since i  dont judge on people i do know in real life ,they can be rude to me as much as they want i will still be polite and friendly especially on internetforums where ya cant see the person behind the screen ,if you post reactions check double if they arent disrespectfull 🆒 thats all i have to say ...

and vikings 🤣 i gonna read allll your topics now ,ive seen ya a lot on the streams i didnt know ya made your own  topics here ,so i am very curious now
