Poker release notes 21/02/2018 - v2.15.0

We have a release today on desktop web, download and on Android. iOS will follow in the upcoming days.

For anyone experiencing crashes AFTER the release, can you please report it with as many details as possible about when/how it happened (e.g. playing 4 tables, after clicking on the fold button) and sending the log file you have located under your Documents folder as "Poker_log.txt".

 

Improvements & Bug fixing

  • Main tournaments will now be highlighted in the lobby (needs some configuration from our end first) 
  • New Casino games available (needs some configuration from our end first) 
  • Ability to configure tournaments so that winners can unlock avatars (see Unibet Online Series promotion)
  • Fixed bug causing desktop client to sometimes crash after closing tables
  • Fixed bug causing rebuy period to sometimes end one hand after the add-on break
  • Fixed bug causing unibet onsite messages notifications not to be visible on Mobile
  • Fixed bug causing the tournament data sometimes not to load correctly

- Not that it's a problem for me since I play 4 and 10 NL/PLO only, but why isn't 200 and 400 not included for the moving on up? :) (I know it's not moving up anymore at those stakes, but now they don't have anything extra to play for this month :))

- Another question, which I thought off after your first sentence on the crashes. Isn't it an idea to have a small group of people beta test every release before you put it OTA. As a small incentive you could give them a small amount of tickets for the low stakes to test with. And I mean hard testing. Like trying to break the app intentionally. (at least for major releases). I think the small cost it takes is worth it over refunding players for avoidable bugs (if any)

About Moving on Up, I haven't designed that promotion but I believe it would just cost too much. It's typically the type of promotion that competitors don't offer because we're giving away more than what we make. Same with the missions for example. If you're doing the strict minimum to get your reward, you would have generated (way) less fees than the reward you get. But we think it has some added values because most of our players just enjoy the game of poker and would do more than the minimum required. 
The monthly mission is mainly a way to reactivate players each month and encourage them to play different games.
Moving on up is mainly a way to encourage players to play several days per week and get a shot at a higher stake. 
That being said, it becomes very costly to do it at the highest stakes.


Regarding the beta testing before each release, I'll pass the comment to see what people think. I'm a bit sceptical about comiting to something like this knowing that I may not have the time to handle it correctly though. Also, when we have a client release, we have a server one in the morning as well. Most changes involve Server and Client. So giving you the client to test in advance wouldn't always be relevant. At least that's my understanding of it but I will double check with tech-savvy people.

Tought it was from my end, but seems others are having DC issues aswell. 

On the beta thing @Chris-Unibet, it's ofcourse only necessary on  updated client releases :) Do you guys have an internal QA team, which thoroughly tests the releases?

I agree with @VikingsAF a way for users to test the software would have prevented sooo many of the cripling issues from the past, as well as preventing an update that will break something for a lot of players, losing a lot of players money, and losing a ton of customers forever. But IMO it should be a play money PBE with it's own client-server instance, and not on the main server. It avoids people actually losing money because of it, it being play money probably woulnd't break any country laws (not sure), and you can set up tons of games made specifically to test certain behaviours without requireing tons of play time. And organize small competitions on the community based on idk play time, bugs found, best reports overtime, etc. But yeah it requires people managing it, and having a PBE is probably also a money investment, but with how much money was probably lost because of fauly releases, that would probably have paid for it many times over. 

There is one aspect I'm not sure about with having a PBE for a poker site, that people could test the hell out of it with no money investment to find bugs they can exploit on the main client for profit, but on the other hand, honest people might find them for you, and you will have logs and should probably have triggers for unusual activity 😏

Same problems here,ive been diconected multiple times,lost a 5 euro buyin.

Now whe i ask the support guy whats hapenning he says that everything is ok and this is an isolated case since i am the only one having theese problems

Hypocrisy at its finnest ,not the first time unibet support does this.

First investigation seems to point towards a connection issues with our Maltese servers during 15-20 minutes. 

Can you please let me know if you still encouter the same problem?

@VikingsAF, yes, there is a QA team and a testing procedure on our provider's end. They can test  builds and server releases before each update but it has to be on a test environement. 

 

Edit: Bad timing but it seems to be confirmed that it's not related to the release (connectivity issues with servers). Please let us know if you keep experiencing disconnections though.

Yeah got the DC 2 or 3 more times. It covers 2-3 hands on average so it isn't that I'm losing tons of money, but when your shorty in a satellite it's fairly anoying :)

Hi @FeelsBadMan,

Leo changed some tags yesterday evening which is why the tickets behave differently. These tickets can now only be used in target tournaments - it was wrongly configured before apparently.

It's not related to the release.

Regarding the lags, we had connection issues during 15-20 minutes but it should be fixed now.

Just checked my ticket balance because of this post, I am missing at least 50e of tickets. Seems all my UOS10s have gone awol but can still see UOS5s.

Was above 2500 yesterday now 2465,
