Hey guys,

it's summer time and I think lot of us are trying to spend the great days of vacation abroad. Many of us want to use Unibet during the holiday too. Due to the different legislation of the countries this seems not so easy as it seems. So can you give us an advise in which countries can we use our accounts during the summer holidays or it's better to suspend the usage till we return home? Thank you in advance.

You won't be able to log in when visiting the following countries:

Afghanistan, Angola, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, French Guiana, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Korea D.P.R.O, Kuwait, Libya, Pakistan, Reunion, Saint Martin, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Spain, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United States of America and other U.S. territories, Uzbekistan or Yemen

In addition, there are some restrictions in a few countries - e.g. you must be 21 years or older in order to play casino and poker in Belgium, while the minimum age is usually 18 years old in other countries.

We hope that you and all others who are going on summer adventures have great vacations /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.png

Hi Marco,
I was reading through relevant Unibet UK terms and conditions: 1.14, 3.4 and 18.6.
I should be able to continue playing if I decide to go for a short term holiday in either Colombia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Thailand, because these are not restricted or excluded countries from the services.
 Could you please confirm?

Hi Marco, Thanks for the positive message, sounds great. I wrote to you because I have got the below emails regarding the exact same question from Unibet support few days ago, which goes against from what I know, what I red in this forum, and what I red in the terms and conditions.

My email question to support: I am planning to travel for holidays for cc 2 weeks in December, and would like to continue playing poker, therefore will travel to an eligible country. Could you please advise if I would be able to play abroad for approx 2 weeks in:
Colombia
Thailand
Ukraine
Venezuela

email 1: Thank you for contacting Unibet support! Apologies, however you'll not be able to use your UK Unibet account whilst abroad due to Gambling laws, licenses and restrictions of other countries. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.

Best regards,

M

email 2: Thank you for contacting Unibet support! Please note that these rules apply to holding an account in these restricted countries where we do not support or hold a licence. Also, please note that if you were to try and play outside of the UK on your account, it'd be automatically blocked/suspended.

@gtopro If it doesn't playing outside of the UK, then the rules must be a bit specific due to the individual rules of that market. I know we have players here on the community who travel quite a bit and it's not been an issue we've heard about.

What could happen though, would be that our automatic security system picks up e.g an IP change to another country + a withdrawal attempt made from said IP, then the account would automatically be suspended and UK proof of address sent in along with a comment that you are in fact in another country. This would be to ensure that the account has not been compromised by a 3rd party and your money don't end up stolen.

Uk support is being very unhelpful and they even managed to block my account just for asking them too many questions on playing from legalized countries abroad, and they are now asking me to re-verify my account! Talk about Unibet customer service at its best, haha such a joke!!!

Also they made it clear there is no way I am allowed to play from abroad, will be blocked and can only reopen upon returning to UK. With the current poker player pool and travel liefestyle regardless of amateur, semi-pro or pro player this is going overboard in restricting gaming and is fundamentally unhelpful.

"Thank you for contacting Unibet support!

In regards to your query raised, this has been reviewed. Unfortunately you will not be able to access your account while abroad from the specific locations mentioned. Your account will automatically be blocked when accessing the account from these locations and in order to get that removed you will need to contact us upon your return to the UK. Thanks and please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.

 Best regards,

R"

@gtopro There is always different considerations that goes into play, especially from a security point of view as maintaining account security for our players is great importance. While I do understand your frustration in not getting the response you wished for, I do have to defer to the information they've given you as they've taken steps(like you mention yourself) with account security being most important issue in the matter.
