more ladies at poker is good, Lot better at a table of women and men.
Anything that can be done to get more ladies to try the game is a good thing. :

@balticblonde Does a great job of trying to build up the female player base.

The pub game i used to play in was 50/50 men and women and was more fun than any male dominated game i have played.

Ps.

Not too many at one table though, I would be scared as the only male 😏

You can exchange UO tickets again all is unicorns and rainbows in Unibet land.

Why exactly is it good, based on what? In a game that already is not only genderless in it's mechanics per default but even more so in the sense that the bulk of gameplay (if you don't win any live tournament invitation being the exception) happens online where you only see a nickname and avatar of your opponent i just don't see the argument.

Its good because its better if a bigger percentage of women aprox 50% of the population can be convinced to join the game it adds new players, new players makes for the game sticking around for longer.

No good being the best crusher in the world if there is no one to play.

Live invitation isnt the only way to play a live game, Where i live you could play freerolls at the local casinos most nights, there are numerous low buy in MTTs at casinos/pubs/clubs etc.

I was specifically talking about playing live and there being a mix of sexes at the poker table, It makes for a different atmosphere and IMO a better one.

Because there is more men that play poker than women. Also some women find it less intimidating to play a ladies only event. Another thing is we would like to get more ladies playing poker as it has always been seen to be a male dominated thing.

Since there are more women than men who clean at home, you support the idea of reduced prices for cleaning items if men buy them as well? I'm just asking because I need to buy a new swiffer soon and maybe you want to pinch in...

What is so intimidating about sitting at home, playing on a software without chat?

LOL at @jonny2192 going full White Knight mode...

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

I think (or hope) the site introduced the Women's Freeroll just to annoy the poor little snowflakes that like to complain about such things.

If your masculinity is so fragile that you get upset about a women-only poker tournament, you probably need psychiatric help.

Don't worry guys, in few years there is no genders in the world and all the tournaments are open for all.... until those social justice warriors starts to promote rights to people who believes that they are born as ducks. Then we maybe have duckie freeroll and at the moment only @psrquack can get in, so start growing your feathers if you want to be part of it :atisfied:

There's always reduced cleaning items in the shops, you've just got to shop around. As for pinchin anything nah thanks I much prefer messing with screwdrivers!

There is actually chat if you know where to look. We use Twitch chat to talk and interact with other members of the community. It's always fun and there are plenty of give aways and freerolls that the community can get involved with. There are far fewer women on Twitch chat and that is something I am trying to get more ladies interacting with as it always seems that if you are on Twitch you are automatically thought of as a male. Did you know that there are other games that you need a password to? Not only the Ladies freeroll games, or is it just that it's aimed at females you've got your panties in a twist about?

@balticblonde does a fantastic job of rallying the ladies to play not only online but in her live games which are always lots of fun. It still is a male dominated industry, but more and more ladies are taking up Poker and seem to be doing rather well in it. Long may it continue and also long may the Ladies Freeroll continue to grow and prosper, as well as the Ladies live games.

It's a cheap shot attacking someones masculinity and one that's dodged very easily... your basically telegraphing that lack of argument from a mile away. Even if someome isn't masculine enough the points remain very valid.

I'm not good at debating and arguing, but here are my thoughts/opinions on these ladies-only freerolls. 😃

Firstly and mainly, I see them as a promotion tool for the facebook group that Daiva (aka @balticblonde) has created, called "Ladies at Unibet Poker" -  it's a supportive community where you can chat and brag and ask questions. She also posts results from members of the group in both live and online games, which is always great to see. Currently the female players numbers are still much lower than male, so this small group acts as a gathering place for those ladies who do play on Unibet. This community right here also has a subforum dedicated to female players, but there isn't much activity there and that could be for a number of reasons that I can't really guess. One of them could definitely be a language barrier, since you should be able to understand and speak basic level of english here.

Secondly, I see them as an entry step into poker world for ladies who might be new to it (perhaps they were invited to the ladies facebook group by their friend and they just want to give the game a try etc) and having a special freeroll might make them feel more welcome, which increases the chances of them returning and playing more games. And while it's true that nobody knows who you are online, Unibet does have some live events and to get more ladies into those events, this freeroll is potentially one small nudge towards that.

Thirdly,  you can view them as any other promo, that often differs by country or by section, like casino/poker/betting. There are certain promos/games available to certain target groups. So if you really want to complain about ladies having a freeroll of their own, you should also be complaining about all the other differences that Unibet has when it comes to promotions. As a matter of fact, being on this community makes you a part of a target group and you can access some promos that non-members do not benefit from, like the Community League was for example. 😏

And finally, instead of complaining, you could invite your daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt or any other female friend to join Unibet, this freeroll promotion, this community and "Ladies at Unibet Poker" facebook group 👍

I don't want to get conflicts here, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents here aswell (I just won them in a freeroll).

In my opinion there's a few bad things about this and a few good things, let's start with the good ones.

1. Overall this is a good promotional thing to get more players. Facebook is a really low level platform, where it's really easy to get others into something. The step is millions times smaller to add some friend to the group where you have talked with about poker, than you have to convince them that this Community platform is amazing.

2. As harsh/rude as this may seem, but ladies attract man more than any other way around. For Unibet it's a really good thing to get more woman to play, because when men catch up on this, they're also way mmore eager to join in. (Mostly talking about live events)

3. This point is also out of stereotype, but that's what I was told by many different ladies and other ambassadors. Women are scared to end up in a men's world. Having a step in platform is a good way to show them that this world isn't as harsh as it seems from the outside.

And now the negative points...

1. As hard as everyone is trying right now to stop differentiating, this group is all about differentiation. People talking about that differentiation happens based on country by Unibet should understand that this differentiation happens by the governements of thos countries and not by Unibet.

2. Following from 1, there seems to be not much effort to bring this ladies into contact with the men of Poker. So we build up 2 different communities. (One with only ladies and one with mostly men and a few women... Tough this point is more about that 2 communities aren't good, and not about what these communities are made off). In my opinion there should be way more effort to get these players from the facebook group active on these community forums.

I would have a few more points to argue with, but since this stays a poker forum I don't feel it's appropriate to go deeper into this :)

So my final conclusion is...

Keep the freeroll, it's an amazing thing, but increase the effort to merge the 2 communities that are created. It would be beneficial in both ways. The community would gain some extra activity, and the women of Unibet will see how great of a community Unibet has. I think this will even make them more eager to stay.

This will both be benefficial for the players on Unibet ad also for Unibet itself.

Thanks for listening <3

I see now that the circumstances of ones birth are irrelevant... It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

If i debated the merits for equality i would end up writing a book on here. In short the slenderest of shoulders have had to carry the heaviest of burdens.I have 2 mothers, 7 sisters, 3 daughters and a wife.So in tribute to these wonderful ladies and the Unibet ladies, I have decided to add €50 worth of UBO tickets to a ladies freeroll  at @balticblonde discretion. I hope one or more of the ladies make it to  Unibet Open London and sample the enjoyment, fun and poker of a live Unibet event. Not only a chance to meet the delightful  Daiva, @balticblonde but to meet the many prominent and wonderful women working for Unibet including Natalie and Alina. Good luck on your poker journey.
