With stories of bots, games getting tougher, win rates getting smaller and large player pools continually being prohibited on joining their global counterparts. Is the "poker dream" still very much alive in 2016?

That depends very much on what your dream is. To me, the poker dream always meant playing in tournaments around the world, culminating in the World Series. That dream is still very much alive with qualifiers running almost daily across a number of sites. If the dream you are referring to is one of making millions of $ in your pants at home, then I think this is pretty difficult (nigh on impossible) to attain realistically; however there is still money to be made if you are willing to work hard and study, just like in everything else.

low fat, skimmed or whole milk?

I don't drink milk, but when I used to I'd have semi-skimmed.

Do you fold your toiletpaper or crumple it? Also, wipe from the front or from the back.

I fold, but the folding isn't always that neat; sometimes it's a fold/crumple combo.

Do you have a solar sneeze reflex?

Yes, and I've never heard it referred to like that which sounds much more scientific than my previous description of "sneezey sun thing".

On a scale from 1 to 10, with 5/7 being the best possible score, how much did you like fight club?

Fightclub is a perfect 5/7.

I registered on Möngöl Hörde but the tourney didn't started. How can I get my money back?

Have you tried contacting customer service and shouting "I WANT MY MONEY BACK, I WANT MY MONEY BACK, I WANT IT BACK." over and over again?

Can you name some of your favourite professional poker players?

I am a little biased towards the UK guys but I always route for Jake Cody as I really like his style , and another friend of mine Craig McCorkel who is less well known but is just downright sick at the game. More globally I'm a huge Vanessa Selbst fan (despite the recent drama), and I've got massive respect for Dan Colman.

Can you name 5 of your favourite punk songs?

It's hard to pick just 5 without ignoring some genius but I'll give you the first 5 that come to mind in no particular order:

Stickin' in my eye - NOFX

New Noise - Refused

In my eyes - Minor Threat

Bikini Kill - Rebel Girl

False Jesii part 2 - Pissed Jeans

(A special mention to Take the Reigns - Tsunami Bomb, and Sailin' On - Bad Brains)

Do you play any single player strategy games, if so, which are your favourites?

Strangely I don't actually play loads of games, I tend to find one and obsess over it. My current obsession is DOTA2.

Which do you prefer: streaming again starting this Monday, or waking up with a severed horse head beside you in bed?

I would love to stream again but I just can't at the moment :(

You guys have any plans on adding any other games besides holdem/omaha, or omaha sngs.

Also was Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur final UO stop for real or a joke.

At the moment we simply don't have the liquidity to offer other games like PLO8 as it would split the PLO player pool, but it is something we are looking at for the future.

Do you think Twitch (or just live streams in general) are going to end up being the main media outlet for poker in the future? With guys like Jcarver and Jamie Staples getting thousands of viewers each week and things like the GPL running have traditional TV shows run their course?

This is a difficult thing to predict, and I don't think it will ever be as simple as that due to the Poker demographic being split into two main groups: under 30's who are attracted to the strategic and academic element of the game, and over 30's who are more attracted to the character-driven side of the game; and importantly the way these two groups consume media tends to be quite different. The former group tends to consume more online media, and the latter more traditional media like TV. So with that in mind I would say that in the short term more traditional poker media will still be created, however over time I think poker media will transition almost entirely to online.

Hi Jamie, found this really interesting, would you mind expanding on what you mean by character-driven?

I'm (well) over 30 but what grabbed me when introduced to the game was finding it was actually more mathematical and strategic than the random lucky card game I had dismissed it as previously. :womanwink:

I apologise for the slightly sloppy age generalisation, I was trying to answer a very complex question with something shorter than an essay :P

By character driven I was referring to the colourful characters like Scotty Nyguen, Phil Hellmuth, Sammy Farha style of poker. A focus on atmosphere, table talk, bravado, posturing, and soul reads, as opposed to the strategy and mathematic driven "online" generation of Tom Dwan, Phil Galfond etc. who tend to be quieter at the table and attract diffferent types of viewers.

Thanks, I'd never thought about people being drawn to poker by the personalities.
But then, I don't have a TV and I've only heard of one of those guys! :smileyembarrassed:

That must apply more to real world poker though, yes?
I'd guess online play attracts less of the "play the people" players, and more the "play the cards" type?

Anyway, perhaps that's a discussion for elsewhere :smileyhappy:

If you were guarenteed a succesful marriage, but had to give up Poker forever, would you do it?

I debate
Should I smile like everything's good and pretend that life is great
Or should I let the world see the real me and not hide this pain
I tried to be like the rest of y'all, sorry I just can't
I'ma probably die this way
