We'll then use the set with the most likes - if the set doesn't fit the community look and feel, we might have to go for the one with the second-most likes or change the emoticons slightly. It might have been better to go poll style and just post 5 options and just get users to like the post with their favourite or post none if they like none of them. I'm just waiting for a quote from them, and if the change doesn't cost too much (can't imagine it will), it'll get changed in two weeks' time. As the emoticons can't really be any larger than 21px in the height, it's limited which ones we can have - they can't have too many fine details.
