This will create unmeant replies to random users when one wants to reply in the thread or to the original poster.I suggest there should be a general reply to thread button. The first post could also be visible on every page.I noticed this in threads where the staff is taking a roll call for tickets etc. but it involves other thread in some amount. When you post in a thread, you'll automatically be subscribed to this thread (default setting), so in terms of the notifications, it shouldn't make a difference.
