Poker server issues

Last update: 16/09/2022 12:00 CEST

12:00 Issue which caused the tournament lobbies to never load on the web/browser client has been fixed. Mitigation measures working very well at the moment with product pretty much unaffected and things working as usual. This can change later in the day.

08:45 MTT lobby performing better and overall less issues now, but performance is impacted. To summarize: once you're logged in, gameplay is working fine. It can however be a challenge to login at times and the MTT lobbies might also display incorrect information. The web client also has an issue loading the tournament lobbies (SNG, HexaPro and MTT) so I advise not to use web/browser client, if you're planning to play tournaments.

Spoiler

20:45 Unfortunately no news to report. Situation remain unchanged. We decided to cancel a few MTT's - the ones with higher GTD's - as the overlay was becoming a bit much. As mentioned earlier, the web client generally seems to be performing worse for tournaments (lobbies not loading) and I'd advise to use the apps, if you wish to play tournaments.

18:20 Severity of login issue changing constantly. At the moment, few customers are able to sign in.

17:25 At the moment there's is no estimate on when we'll be back to normal. In some cases the web client seems to be more impacted than downloadable apps, so if for instance HexaPro lobby fails to load on web, I'd advise to try either phone or desktop app.

16:00 Few MTT's canceled. Will likely leave the schedule for rest of the day as is. MTT gameplay should work fine, but the lobby details will show wrong/delayed information at times. If you're having login issues, I'd advise you to try again (some customers reporting they need 5-10 attempts before successful authentication). If you consistently fail, it's almost certainly because your IP is being blocked as part of the mitigation measures.

15:16 Logins still affected occasionally. Cash game largely unaffected. HexaPro and SNG's are running but with lower traffic than normally. We decided to let MTT's run for now: MTT's are running but the lobbies have serious lag. We might cancel some of the bigger tournaments tonight. Web client can fail to load the game lobbies at times.

12:51 Upcoming MTT's canceled until 14:05. HexaPro and SNG game creation is currently possible. Cash games have largely remained unaffected by the issue and is still available.

12:02 Investigation ongoing. Pending decision on what to do with tournament formats in the coming hours.

11:34 Login possible again. Cash games running. Tournament formats down.

11:15 Issue has returned. At this point I don't have further details to share

10:17 Paused tournaments have now all been canceled and games are back online.

We unfortunately experienced some server issues on poker during the night, as we were hit by a ddos attack. Would like to stress there're no security risks associated with this; it's simply an attack meant to bring the servers down with a traffic overload. The mitigation measures worked okay, and all tournaments were paused. We are working on bringing things back and tournaments will be canceled accordingly (https://cf-mt-cdn1.relaxg.com/chew/rules/com/en_GB/tournament_cancellation_policy/), but latest news is that this might take a while (hours).

We're very sorry about the issue and you can check back here for any updates. We encourage you to wait with any refund requests until all tournaments have been canceled, as refunds should be issued automatically then - we won't review any requests before then.

Good luck at the tables!
