Community League - Spring 2024

Looking out the window here in rainy Denmark, it's hard to see the spring is here, but the calendar does say so, and that means: Community League - Spring 2024!

Will you be the community blogger of the year?

It's great to see the increased activity (and quality) of bug reports, since the introduction of the "bug hunt", and I'm hopeful we'll get the other community sections going a bit more as well, now that it has officially become a poker-only community.

To help get things going, I'll be introducing a "Blogger of the year 2024" award. To be considered for this award, all you'll need to do is create your own thread in Blogs & Stories section. In December, the winner will then be decided partly by community votes and partly by an internal jury where the community data will be key (views, likes, regular followers, general interaction in thread etc.). Full justification and key data will be shared, as part of winners announcement.

The winner will get a custom avatar in the poker client (you decide what it should look like) as well as a unique badge on the community.

Additionally, top 3 bloggers will get to play an exclusive €1 buyin tournament with the following prizes:

€1500 Unibet Live package (includes buyin, travel money and hotel)

€250 Unibet Live ticket

€250 Unibet Live ticket

While the blog doesn't have to be exclusively about poker, it must contain some poker content.

Terms & Conditions

Players from Sweden can not be invited to the tournament for top 3 bloggers

Eligibility for a reward is decided at the sole discretion of Unibet

December 2024, a poll will be published here on the community

The €2000 tournament for top 3 bloggers will take place either late December or early January, once availability has been confirmed by participants

The €1500 Live Package can be used for any event that we run a €1500 package qualifier for

Fourteen Years Of Heartache In The Microverse, Is The End In Sight?

At times it feels much longer but it is in fact 14 years since I started playing online poker. You'd think 14 years doing something would make anyone recognisable as a cut above the newbies, or fish, or recs, whatever's politically correct to call the newcomers these days, but sadly in my case time has not been so kind. Yes there have been some improvements, I actually call myself a winning player these days, albeit at a very small rate and amongst the lowest stakes it's possible to play at, but winning is winning. I've been a little over 6 years on Unibet, I never tracked my stats, deposited when losing and withdrew when winning, and although the figures are somewhat skewed to a small sample of mainly tournament wins, statistics don't lie, do they?     A Little Housekeeping.   2024-04-01 15-11-08.mp4      The frustrating thing today, there always seems to be one, is that though I had the best intentions I'm already falling behind my schedule, loose and fluid though it is. I've not played a hand of poker today but I was playing for an unusually long time yesterday, (thin brag incoming) in the farewell to Ukranians and Bulgarians tourneys, one of which, the UAT version, I won, and cashing in the other, (brag over.) I've also started picking a few horses out here and there, posting them on YouTube, definitely NOT tipping them. That's it for now, updates as and when but hopefully regularly, and good luck all at the tables.    Small update:  Of course my number of hands played isn't for the full 6 years, only since the Game Lab came in, still a very small amount though.

The worst fight in recent times

When you are sure that you will win, but the luck is with someone else 🙂. How did you play this hand, wait until the river or all in after the flop?

Stubbe's Bundesliga Corner

It all started back in the 2000/2001 season, when the Danish forward Ebbe Sand had a fantastic season at Schalke 04. My interest was aroused; I read a lot about Schalke and the Bundesliga, and I started watching a lot of games as well. It didn't take long, before I was hooked - I had become a Bundesliga junkie. In the years to come, I'd spend countless hours in front of the tv and computer, watching and analyzing games, reading Bundesliga news etc. The number of Schalke matches I've missed in the last 2 years, can be counted on one hand, and I've obviously been to Gelsenkirchen a few times as well. About 5-6 years ago I started betting on the Bundesliga. I got off to a less than optimal start, but I learned a lot and my game slowly improved. A few years later I had my own Bundesliga betting blog with a ROI of +10, and I was also a Bundesliga expert at the largest Danish betting community for a short while. When I started working for Unibet, I didn't feel like I had the time to bet seriously anymore, and for almost a year, I didn't place a single bet. Today I'm only betting for the entertainment, but I like to believe, that I've still got the ability to spot a bet with value. I'm going to challenge myself, and will post a few Bundesliga bets every week, with the goal of creating a small profit. I'll keep score of the bets in this post. As there's quite a long time till the next Bundesliga game, I'll temporarily be using this thread to share my view on transfers, season bets and anything Bundesliga, that I find interesting. EDIT: now that we've got the new emoticons implemented, I'll start using a money bag scale to indicate the value. This info will be added to the heading of each bet. :cash: = 100-103.9 BV
:cash::cash: = 104-106.9 BV
:cash::cash::cash: = 107-109.9 BV
:cash::cash::cash::cash:= 110-112.9
:cash::cash::cash::cash::cash: = >112.9
An Excel sheet with all bets can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/03gzxjg595t8ybd/Bundesliga_Corner_Stubbe.xlsx?dl=0

LOTS OF PREMIER LEAGUE

Best in x-mas? 4 rounds of pl within little over a week :) Kick off will be Arsenal - Liverpool on friday. Pretty hard to predict, either winner or goals. Over 2,5 odds so low that i´ll pass that, rather would go under as both have been good in defence lately. But then again it could turn out to be goal fest too like it often has been with these two. Hard, so hard :D Anyways, lots of matches to come and i bet we see lots of surprises too just for amount of games in that short period. Lets see if i can turn them surprises to money :)

2024 poker bug hunt - Let's catch them all!

It’s only been a few days since my previous “bug hunt” announcement, so this one might seem a bit odd, but I was impressed by all the good feedback submitted, and I didn’t feel the existing bug reports section did you guys’ justice. So, I reached out to the community platform supplier to hear what could be done, and they have – in record time – set up a brand-new bug reports section that should help with a much better overview, better guidance when submitting a report and more. I can for instance set bug status as well as priority, and everyone can easily filter by these values. You can find the new section here: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/bugreports/ I’ve also decided to improve the rewards a bit, so for the next 3 months (March, April, May), you will have the opportunity to get: 2500/5000 (€25-€50) bonus points for each submitted report that gives us enough info to realistically reproduce the issue or find the root cause. 2500bp will be for smaller issues and 5000bp for bigger ones. Typos, promo terms etc. are not included here, but we’d of course still love to hear about them. Valuable contributions to existing reports (if you for instance help identify steps to reproduce the issue) will also trigger this reward. 2500/5000 (€25-€50) bonus points again when we manage to fix the issue. Invite to a €500 (bumped up from €250) monthly centroll for everyone that contributed the past month. First one will run early April. It’ll be decided, at my sole discretion, when something is deserving of the bonus points reward, and it’ll generally be paid on Fridays. It might sound a bit vague and unclear, but it’s rather simple. If you experience an issue once and there’s no way for us to identify why it happened, then I can’t reward with bonus points. It could for instance be the client crashed once, but it seemed random and there’s no dmp file with details (dmp file=crash detail file generated by special client version I’ll share on here after every release).
We appreciate all reports, and I will try to be nice about the rewards, promise 😊 Terms & Conditions Players from Sweden, Belgium and Denmark can not receive the bonus points rewards. Eligibility for a reward is decided at the sole discretion of Unibet  Bonus points rewards will be paid every Friday We reserve the right to change the promotion at any time General Unibet terms and conditions apply

KrustyTheClown aka 00Robot00 Cash Game Madness

Introduction
I'm a 36 year old guy from Belgium.
Been playing poker since around 2009. Like many of you I learned the game from some friends.
I remember starting off playing full ring limit Hold'Em freeroll Sit & Go's at Everest Poker where first place won $0.05 😆 FML.
I was and still am pretty risk averse and wouldn't deposit any of my own money.
I also busted a $50 free bankroll from pokerstrategy.com in the early days.
A bit later I got around €10 for free at Victor Chandler poker and started winning steadily at 2NL. Everyone was terrible obviously 😆
Also back in the day Full Tilt Poker had some great freerolls where you could win some decent money.
Those were the good days where you had insane rakeback deals and a dozen of sites to choose from.
Back in my college days I also played a lot at Absolute Poker and played up untill 100NL.
Just before the Black Friday shit hit the fan I moved all my poker money - around $5000 I think - to Pokerstars.
Dodged some serious bullets there.

Unibet
Fast forward a couple years to 2014/2015. Regulation has kicked in.
Around 95% of my volume is now strictly at Unibet.
I would mainly play NL cash, but also mixed in quite some PLO cash. Also played quite some tournaments.
Since 2016 I started playing more and more and started logging my monthly results in an Excel sheet.
I know setting monetary goals is far from ideal, but winning about €5000/year was and is a good target for me.

Live debut at Unibet Open Copenhagen
Playing online poker is quite a lonely ride. It's a neverending grind.
And even if you are long-term winner it can be very frustrating at times.
I'm part of a small Discord group where I can moan and vent out my frustration.

Contrary to popular belief I'm not a robot and I can appreciate some human interaction.
Apart from your regular €10 cash games with friends I had never played live up untill 2016.
I managed to qualify for Unibet Open Copenhagen!
Although I had a tough time in the tournament and didn't cash, it was a great trip.
I busted out squeeze jamming 73ss for like 10bb I think 😆

Epic trip at Unibet Open Malta
Back in 2018 I qualified for Unibet Open Malta.
This trip definitely was the highlight of my poker "career" so far.
The hotel was very nice, the weather was perfect and Malta obviously is a lovely destination.
Also lots of people from the Unibet online community were there 🙂

I got off to a great start in the tournament and think I had a stack of about twice average when I got moved to the TV table.
The table was very chatty and quickly it became clear that the Finnish guy was absolutely hammered.
He was so drunk he couldn't count anymore and was knocking over his chip stack all the time.
Much to the delight of the commentators Kat Arnsby and @DaVitsche he was still ordering large pints of beer.
Obviously he had a huge stack.

I think it was the second or third hand after I sat down at the table.
A short stack opened UTG for 2.3bb and I just went for a standard 3bet with AK.
But now this crazy Finnish dude just announces all in and I had another 50 bigs behind.
I frowned and thought about for like half a minute before sighcalling it off.
I binked the ace on the flop and won a huge pot.
Ultimately I busted out in 23rd on day 2 for €2400.
Here's a picture taken just right after I shoved my last chips in.

I think I had like 12bb left and was in the big blind with 99.
UTG opens and it folds around to the lady in red on my direct right.
Her name is Jenny Israel and she's a pretty active/aggro player from my experience.
She 3bets it and I ponder for a while before jamming.
But now the guy that opened UTG jams over the top for like 40bb+.
As you can see from this picture I'm obviously not too happy about all this action.
Jenny goes in the tank and ends up folding QQ face up!
I'm like fistpumping at this point 😆
The other guy tables AK. There's a queen on the flop but also the ace comes in and that was it for me.

Next time
This post is already way longer than I thought it would be 🙂
I'll write some stuff about my current poker games and the goals for and reasons to this thread.

Hexa price

Imo the price is now displayed in worst possible position being under cards. If you are multitabling with phone it is often quite hard to keep up which table has which price. Lots of empty space there where to put it (1,2,3), could be even shown beside cards in sidebar (4) (Beer to first who can remember just by colours what was multiplier)

Adding actual times/dates for expiry of tournament tickets

Hi, Would it be possible to display the actual final time a ticket can be used with both the date and time? I've already made several mistakes due to the incredibly vague 'less than x' system currently used. When I first joined, I misuderstood how long the €5 welcome tickets were valid for and ended up multi-tabling all four tickets (including using one as a flip) at once a whole week before they expired. I've lost another ticket through confusion. And almost threw away several more through flips because: It's not clear that you can book tournaments for after the expiry date. Tournaments often don't show up until 24 hours or less before their start date. So, if my ticket expires at e.g. 10.30pm and the only relevant next tournament in 10pm the next day, I have no way of knowing that without risking losing my ticket or spending silly amounts of time waiting for new tournaments to maybe appear. I can see the purpose of flip tournies if you lack time, but otherwise I'd much prefer the edge from actually playing poker compared to a 1/5 probability of winning with 5/1 returns (not including stake). With those odds it would be quicker to just buy the higher value ticket assuming you play enough games to overcome variance. It would also be amazing to have some way of seeing tournament times a week in advance. It would make planning much, much easier. Apart from this, I'm absolutely loving Unibet. Playing some really enjoyable poker and having a blast -- keep up the good work. 🙂
